Petrobrás Energía SA and Arte al Día Publishing House invite all those who may be interested to participate in the Photography Competition "Petrobrás-Buenos Aires Photo”. Theme: any. Objective: to support new photographic expressions.

Participation Requisites

1. The competition is open to all amateur and professional photographers regardless of nationality or place of residence, except direct relatives or employees of the organizers or jury members.

2. Each author is entitled to participate with only one image measuring approximately 20 x 30 cm (7.8 x 11.8 in).

3. From among all the works submitted, the Jury will select 8, and each of the authors will receive $ 2.300 for the definitive production of the work for its exhibition.

4- The final dimensions of the work must not exceed 1 x 1,50m (39.3 x 59 in.). The works must be framed or mounted on 9 mm laminated MDF panels.

5- The deadline for submission of the 20 x 30 cm works will be August 25, 2006. Entries should be addressed to "Premio Petrobrás – Buenos Aires Photo”, and submitted personally or by mail at Arte al Día, Parera 15, piso 9 Ciudad de Buenos Aires, CP C1014 ABA, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m to 6 p.m.

6- A separate document (on paper or digital file) should include the author’s personal data: full name, ID, title of the work, medium, postal address, e-mail and telephone number.

7- The Jury will be comprised of Elda Harrington, Silvia Mangialardi, Alejandro Montes de Oca, Julio Sánchez and Diego Costa Peuser.

8- Prizes: Among the 8 final projects, the Jury will award:
1st Prize: $ 9000
2nd Prize: $ 4500
Purchase Prize: Petrobrás Energía SA will be entitled to keep the first copy of the production run of each of the 8 works produced; the remaining copies of the run will be reserved by the artist, together with the copyright ownership of the said works and the rights implied thereby.

9- The authors of the 8 works selected agree to allow their works to be exhibited, published, and/or utilized in the context of cultural activities, in all cases, mention will be made of the title of the work and the name of the author, who reserves his/her Copyright Ownership and rights derived thereby (Law 11,723).

- Meeting of the Jury to analyse the works:

- Notification of results: As of September 10, results will be available at www.artealdia.com - www.eaf.com.ar - www.fotomundo.com
- Final Presentation of the 8 works selected:
October 2
- 2nd Meeting of the Jury to award 1st and 2nd Prize: October 5
Prize-giving ceremony: October 18
Exhibition of works: October 17 through 22 at the Palais de Glace, on the occasion of the “Buenos Aires Photo 2006” Fair.
Collection of works not accepted: They must be collected from Arte al Día Publishing House before November 30, 2006.

11- Any other issue not provided for in the Participation Requisites will be solved by the organizers.
